From Mohave Electric’s 2024 Key Ratio Trend Analysis (KRTA) Report
National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) established the KRTA report in 1975. This report is an excellent tool to compare a cooperative’s operations against the other 815 participating cooperatives across the country. It contains 145 ratios which cover financial and operational information. Two important ratios that Mohave Electric has historically explained on our website have been Ratio 104 – Total Operating Expenses Per Consumer and Ratio 110 – Total Wages Per Consumer.
The Total Operating Expenses Per Consumer looks at the controllable costs the cooperative spends on things such as labor, property taxes, and supplies. For the past five years, Mohave Electric has been in the lowest 5% across the country. Mohave Electric has been the lowest in the state since 2019. The Total Wages Per Consumer has also been historically low. For 2024, we were in the lowest 5% for this ratio as well. Across the state since 2019, Mohave Electric has either been the lowest (3 years) or the second lowest (2 years). This means the Cooperative operates with an efficient staff with minimal redundancy.
