Bullhead City, AZ – Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) is proud to announce six student winners for MEC’s 2025 Scholarship Program. A total of twenty-four applications were received.

Thanks to MEC’s executive leadership, students in MEC’s service area attending a higher education institution this fall semester were eligible to apply for assistance. A panel of judges selected six student winners: Shea Amann, attending Arizona State University; Rachel Barton, attending University of Arizona; Christopher Boggs, attending Montana State University; Christy Cerjance, attending Grand Canyon University; Savanah Furr, attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott; and Anthony Siyuja, attending Coconino Community College. Each of the six students received a $1,667 scholarship to the college where they are enrolled for a total of $10,000.

“MEC is proud to continue providing the tools and resources, if and when we can, to students who are furthering their educational goals and who took the time to complete the application to be considered for MEC’s scholarship,” said CEO Tyler Carlson. “Congratulations to each of these students. MEC is excited to see their futures unfold.”

Carlson envisioned a supplementary, MEC-awarded college scholarship, and put into action an investment fund for member education programs. These funds are held separately from rates and are ear-marked for community projects benefiting MEC members. This annual scholarship is in addition to the thousands of dollars provided for other MEC educational programs including Mohave Community College (MCC) student scholarships, MEC’s Classroom Grants, Washington Youth Tour, Making Accidents Disappear elementary school magic show, SunWatts Renewable Energy Education Grant, and the partnership with Western Governor’s University (WGU). Education, Training, and Information are part of the seven Cooperative Principles upheld by MEC to support the future of even the youngest of our members.
