A Message From CEO Tyler Carlson

Exciting News for Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC)!

Tyler Carlson

I am pleased to announce the Mohave County Board of Supervisors approved our Mohave Energy Park natural gas project on King Street on November 4! We are thrilled the Board recognized the importance of bringing new-generation resources to MEC’s local Distribution Network.

Thank You MEC members who took the time to voice your support at the public hearings, wrote letters, sent emails, made phone calls, and signed supporter cards! This project has been years in the making and was made possible by your support!

Arizona Electric Power Cooperatives, also known as AEPCO, is MEC’s main generation, transmission, and energy services provider. MEC is also a member-owner of AEPCO and serves as the local distribution service provider and operator in the Mohave County area.

Together, the not-for-profit Cooperatives are planning for new quick-start electric natural gas generating units to be constructed. The new natural gas generating units will provide reliable, affordable energy for MEC members. This natural gas generation has been a part of our long-term Integrated Resources Plan (IRP).

  • Solar + Battery + Natural Gas Generation = Reliability & Affordability

Again, thank you all for your support. Together with Arizona Electric Power Cooperative, we are here to serve you. Stay tuned for future updates.
